Our goal is to foster a supportive, inclusive, and equitable environment that promotes scientific creativity, curiosity, and personal growth. Individualized mentorship is an essential component of scientific training, and lab members have opportunities both to receive guidance and to mentor others as they grow.
We value a balanced and sustainable approach to research, and consider mental well-being an important part of long-term scientific success. As a group, we pursue scientific questions that we find meaningful and motivating, with the shared aim of advancing our understanding of brain development and function.
If this environment aligns with your goals and approach to science, we welcome you to reach out about opportunities in our lab.
We are seeking postdoctoral candidates with a PhD in neuroscience, genetics, developmental biology, molecular biology, computational genomics, or related fields. Applicants should have a strong publication record and demonstrated expertise in one or more of the following areas: stem cell biology, genomics, computational or bioinformatics, molecular biology, behavioral biology, disease mouse models, or advanced microscopy.
If you are a UC San Diego graduate student interested in joining the lab, please email Hiruy at hmeharena (a) ucsd (dʘt) edu.
We welcome graduate students from the following programs:
